Hostages are non-playable characters in Counter-Strike Online.
Overview
They can only be found in Hostage rescue maps. When a Counter-Terrorist is near a hostage, the hostage will shout for help. The Terrorists will use this as a signal that a Counter-Terrorist is near. By pressing USE (default E) button as a Counter-Terrorist, the triggered hostage will follow the Counter-Terrorist and $150 will rewarded for leading the hostage. By rescuing a hostage, $1,000 will be rewarded to the Counter-Terrorist that rescued the hostage.In-match points will be deducted if the players injure or kill them.
Trivia
To win the round as a Counter-Terrorist, 3 surviving hostages have to be rescued at least.
