Spray is originally used in Half-Life as a mark so that the player will not get lost.

The lambda spray
In Counter-Strike, spray is still being used as the tracking device, as well as symbolism. The players are able to change their spray. The default Counter-Strike spray is taken from Half-Life spray, the Lambda.
Counter-Strike Online[]
In Counter-Strike Online, customized sprays cannot be uploaded by the players. They must be either bought from the Shop or attained through events in order to use them. Available sprays in Counter-Strike Online are:

In Counter-Strike Online 2, this function was disabled. During early releases, players could use spray but there were no sprites nor designs that would display. However, the new update enables the player to use sprays.
