Submodes are different styles of the same gameplay. The submodes exist in Counter-Strike Online are:
- Classic Battle
- Knife Battle
- Pistol Battle
- Frag War
- Flashbang Forbidden
- AWP Battle
- Sniper Battle
- AWP Forbidden
- Reversed Map (during April Fool event only)
- SD: Zombie Scenario (during event only)
After the 12 June 2014 update of South Korea, these new submodes were added:
- New Classic
- AWP + Flashbang Forbidden
- Classic (Flashbang Forbidden)

- Sniper Battle is different from AWP battle. The player can use any sniper rifles while in AWP battle, the player can only use AWP and other bolt-action sniper rifles except the Steyr Scout.
